Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026

At DoFitness (dofitness.com), we use only what is strictly necessary to operate the site securely. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage we use, why we use them, and your choices.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser. “Similar technologies” such as localStorage and sessionStorage allow a website to store small amounts of information in your browser for the same purposes. This policy covers both.

2. What We Use

We only use storage that is strictly necessary to provide the service you have requested. Specifically:

  • Authentication cookie (refresh_token): an HTTP-only, secure cookie containing an encoded JWT refresh token. It keeps you logged in. Lifetime: 1 day.
  • Browser storage (localStorage): while you are signed in, we store your basic profile (email, first name, last name, avatar, role) in your browser’s localStorage so the app can display it without re-fetching it on every page load. It is cleared when you sign out.
  • Workout recovery storage (sessionStorage): recent unsaved workout edits are stored per account and browser tab so a refresh does not lose them. These records contain no authentication token and are removed after a confirmed save, when the tab session ends, or after seven days at the latest.

We do not use cookies or browser storage for advertising, cross-site tracking, profiling, or marketing.

3. Analytics and Error Monitoring (Cookieless)

We use two privacy-friendly services that do not set cookies and do not use browser storage to identify you:

  • Vercel Web Analytics – aggregate page-view counts, referrer, country, and device type. Visitors are distinguished by a daily-rotated hash; no persistent identifier is stored.
  • Vercel Speed Insights – anonymous Core Web Vitals (page-load performance) metrics.
  • Sentry – error and exception reporting so we can diagnose bugs. Reports are sent only when something fails; no cookies or local storage are set on your device.

Because these services do not place cookies or other identifiers on your device, EU ePrivacy rules do not require a consent banner for them. See our Privacy Policy for the data processed and the legal basis.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We do not set any third-party cookies on dofitness.com.

5. Managing Cookies and Storage

Because we only use strictly-necessary cookies and storage, we do not show a consent banner and there is no opt-out mechanism – without them, sign-in and the authenticated parts of the site would not work.

You can clear cookies, localStorage, and sessionStorage at any time from your browser settings. Signing out clears your active account data after pending workout changes are saved.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if our use of cookies or similar technologies changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
